12" release date: 15. Sept. via Wordandsound
Download release date: 22. Sept. via Beatport

Pressed on single-sided turquoise vinyl.

Once again, TuningSpork Records ventures away from its trademark funky
house in exchange for something a little more unexpected. Last summer,
the label issued "Free Your Mind" (TSEXTRA), a Baleraric groove crafted by
Jay Haze and Ricardo Villalobos. Now comes another non-sequitur:
"Comptine d'un autre été: l'après-midi” (TSULTRA), Mr. Tiersen’s piano
composition reconstructed for the dancefloor by Jay.

French composer Yann Tiersen has a minimalist approach that many
electronic producers could learn from. His piece (the title of which roughly
means “Nursery rhyme of another summer: the afternoon”) provides the
basis for this melancholy track. DJs addicted to hyperbolic effects plugins
might hesitate to play this – but those who appreciate subtlety will be
rewarded here. Tiersen’s original composition is tastefully manipulated into
a track that makes sense in a club context, yet sets itself apart from the
usual techno/house fare, providing a rare introspective moment on the
dancefloor.

And it might be worth mentioning: if you play this track and the floor
doesn’t fill up with ladies, then it probably means you’re DJing at a gay
club. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that!)

not even close to the original track by yann tiersen.

feel jay could have put some more effort behind this, because for me it just sounds like he's only put on a beat, and "nothing" else.

How cheap - considering that others already had that idea and have done it that brilliant way!

yann tiersen is an amazing musician, but judging from the sample this rmx is a joke...turn on the original and enjoy!
