[release: sept. 2005] Richie Hawtin DE9: Transitions

Post by Harm Rhebergen »

08/06 - Richie Hawtin DE9: Transitions

Richie Hawtin has been working on his next release, DE9: Transitions at his studio in Berlin. With the use of new recording advances and automation techniques, Hawtin uses his new found freedom to expose a new area of the mix, that of the 'transition'.
DE9:Transitions blows the idea of the conventional DJ mix out of the water and not only explores the traditional musical 'transition' in time &
amplitude (X and Y) of Sound, but also in the depth (Z) of Space &
Perception, opening up the DJ mix for the first time into a fully encompassing, surround sound (5.1) environment.

DE9: Transition has been from start to end, constructed, and composed to be a completely immersive experience, allowing you, the listener, to get further into the heart of it all...and this time, even closer to the edit.

To fully maximise the realisation of this concept DE9: Transitions will be
released in Sept 2005 (novamute/Minus) on CD & DVD, including both Stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound versions, as well as high resolution audio versions and accompanying visuals.

Richie Hawtin will preview DE9: Transitions in 5.1 surround sound for the first time at Sonar, Barcelona 2005.

it should be fun... there will be more than 100 tracks (or, obviously, loops extracted and manipulated from these tracks) mixed together... including a few foundsound ones
