Rex Sepulveda hails from Detroit and is one of D-Records original producers. His long tenure in the
Detroit Electronic Music scene has enabled him to develop a consistent ability to capture the subtle
elements of music being produced globally and implement them into a sound that is distinctly Detroit
while at the same time having an evolutionary sound. This EP is a collection of new tracks from Rex
that exemplify this ability, enjoy.
TRACK BREAKDOWN:
A1 – Credit Card
A creepy reverberated vocal sample twirls then jumps into a nice bubbly chug. As it plays out the basic
elements become interspersed with jolting percussion and nice synth jabs.

A2 – Salut
Smooth synth lines get this track rocking early. As it progresses weird jabs and hi hat come in while a
mysterious vocal sample underscores. Later a melodic synth line comes in to wrap it all together.

B1 – Dark Matter
The whispy intro turns into a smooth bass line and kick. Sounds come in and out as it moves on which
then washes into a reverb heavy build. It all comes back in, subtly, making for a nice, thick sound – this
is a big room track.

B2 – IF
This track comes out of the gate with an attention getting synth jab/hi hat combo, letting you know that
it is an all out early morning “get weird” weapon. Lots of nice and crunchy percussion mixed with expanding
sounds and samples. Goodness for the weird in all of us.
