Akufen may uses FL too but not in that way that Jeff does.

Marc use Ableton for Live.

One of his main techniques is to collect soundmaterial from everywhere (Radio, TV, Field Recordings, etc.). With the tons of raw sounds he cuts everything into tiny little pieces and starts to re-arrange them to sound sequences or use them as an input for his sampler or synth.

Good to see you post again brother.

To your point there is a timeline that also elapses as I think that record came out in 98 so what is using now obviously would be slightly different. but it also goes to show software is really nothing more than a sequencer.
