This.

So many different uses these days for a mixer. What are your expectations from having one? Also what are your goals? Mix the outputs from your sound card? Record your analog gear in realtime and get a two track output?

I'm afraid there is no budget analog mixer to enhance the sound. For clean sound sure. I have an A&H zed mixer and im happy with it. But to get analog overdrive, mojo, warm, etc. prepare good $$$. I think you are better spending the money on quality distortion/eq plugins for warmness at this point, it's 2016 there is good stuff out there.

Soundcraft Delta 200 16 channel. That has some Mojo. I am sure there are others too for your budget. Not brand new though, you'll have to buy 2nd hand. Your budget won't allow for that presence and punch and mojo you get from an expensive desk, but mojo...sure. A RAMSA desk in another, though you may have to stretch that budget a little.

Looking at getting a A&H Mixwizard 16:2 for Live and multitrack myself.
