like Logic audio vs. cubase?
What's your opinion? what think is better for music production?
I think mac is more stable than PC but mac's software is hard to find and pretty expensive.
I hope soon i ll have a G5
Oh God send me a copy of the latest L.A. version
MAC vs. PC
the debate will always be there but i feel as if now more than ever mac is on top because of the new mactels. sure they don't have the customizability of building you own pc but considering the stuff that comes on macs why would you want to upgrade?
in truth this will be an endless debate and is pointless.

faith in chaos.

Well let's turn this topic into something usefull then. I just bought a mac and would like to produce some sounds. I am looking for some nice cheap software to experiment with. Everyone is using reason and ableton but I just don't see me pay 1000's of euros just to start out. There must be some more limited programs to try if you like making music.
Maybe someone could give some advice for both pc and mac.

Cheap for MAC:
For a sequencer/host: http://www.renoise.com/ $65 usable demo available and a good tutorial page to help understand whats going on.
Free VST & AU: http://www.dontcrack.com/freeware/softw ... tform/mac/
Lots a good ones there, Automat & Crystal get great reviews.
I'm on a PC BTW

If you want next to no downtime (at least by comparrison) and better performance all around, go mac.
If you want to save money and don't really care too much about stability (or will at least be willing to deal with it to save a buck) then go PC.
I am assuming of course, when PCs are being talked about here we are also talking about windows operating systems.

it depends how well your pc is built and if you surf free porno sites and clog up your pc.
so far my 3 yr old alienware PC is doing great for me...but i also clean up and reinstall my system once a year.
i also understand that mac users are pretty screwed with the new intel macs...as far as having to reinstall and update all their audio pluggins.
cuz i think all you can do at this point with a intel mac is surf the net and use a calculator . =P
