alesis m1 active 520 feedback noise! Crazy beeping!

Post by Daemonix »

Hello all,

I turned them on today to listen to some music and one of them seemed to have some 'feedback' (im not sure how it's called in English professionally, but its the one you get from microphone feedback sound).

I turned it off for a bit and disconnect the audio cable because I thought its the audio source.

Next time I turned it on after some milliseconds it goes crazy beeping with red led. No cables connected. I also moved it to a different power socket/room.
No luck :(

Any ideas?

Thanks

I would contact Alesis, it sounds like a hardware fault inside the speaker.

Well... PCM is 80 quid delivered... No way!

I'm thinking of some KRK to be honest. Rokit 6 or 8.

In not sure what this has to do with your original post. KRK would be a step down in quality. They're sh!t! Go with PCM, they sound good and you can actually mix with them, unlike KRKs.

Sorry guys! I feel stupid!!
PCB!!! :) Alesis replacement PCB for 80 quid!

Now about KRK. I dont think I want to spent more than 400 quid for the pair (less than that is even better). I live in a flat (not alone) that I cant use them as often as I would like so keeping a nice "cost to quality" ratio is better.
Are KRK that bad if you consider the above? other options?
