Multi-timbral audio over USB

Post by lem »

Does anyone know a synth that does this? I was reading up on the Waldorf Blofeld and I think I would probably buy one if it could do this... Would be an awesome addition to a live laptop setup I think.

The DSI Tetra is multi timbral and also comes with USB connectivity, don't own one though but remember reading the specs when I was looking at one. Any reason why USB is important?

Its not just usb conectivity, its being able to send multichannel audio over usb aswell. So the advantage would be 1 cable for all the signals..

I'm not sure if the Tetra does this..

why are you limiting yourself to usb? you can get a simple usb to midi for $5 from amazon... http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Converter-M ... B0017H4EBG

I heard good things about the blofeld as well.

you should get one of these ;) http://www.vintagesynth.com/yamaha/tx81z.php

I didnt think i was limiting myself? lol

I am talking about having 2 cables to the synth. Power and usb, carrying midi AND multichannel audio.
So no need for a loom of audio cables and midi leads, just one usb with it all...

Yeah, if you want to build patches in the most painful way possible.

i have a fb-01 i got for 5 dollars. rather like it... even though it only has 4 operators and is beyond a pain in the ass to edit it still has a unique sh!t sound that I love at certain times.
