i tried all these ensembles/presets, they have nothing to do with the sounds i'm talking about

No doubt for me that the machinedrum hasn't made a dent on the techno scene. It's sound to me is a big part of the "modern" minimal sound... Vs using a 909/808. Then again samplers provided an other way to get away from the classic minimal sound back in the day.

Same goes for all the other plugins listed here... Many gaiser sounds from his earlier material are micro tonic presets.
