Why do you produce music?

Family comes first all the time. It's the most imporant thing to me. I know a few people that completly gave up music when they had children. That means, no more making music or djing.

I would be miserable if I didnt make music. Lucky for me I have a very understanding girlfriend.

yeah I could never do that. Give that up ? No way.
It's not like one thing excludes the other.
Since it seems my destiny to live amongst women all my life (grew up with 3 sisters, now I got 2 daughters),
it's all the more important to have a room to retreat to from all that endless blabbering

Kids love synthesizers. I don't have any kids, but my girlfriend's friend always brings her kids over to the house when they hang out. The kids always chill with me in the studio. I just let em do whatever. Play the keyboard, twist knobs on the modular, bang on the drums, whatever. They're totally into it. Almost makes me want a few.

i think doing music, arts, sports or whatever is only going to be a good thing for your kids. they need those experiences.

Why would having kids mean you have to give up making music? I can't understand the logic in that.

hmm, just tried showing a pic of my oldest when she was 6 months old and was put in a chair in front of my juno & JX and went nuts.
Somehow that didn't quite work...

I've taken my K-station and put it on the floor of the studio, so she can basically always walk in, put on headphones and play around with it.
Whenever she has activated an arpeggio, she comes to me and says (with a very proud and serious face) "look dad, I've played all notes at the same time" ! funny stuff...
