Bart skills Bass line

Post by RichardLodge »

Hey, can anymore help work out how this bassline was made.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbIlmNYq5RQ

It's a filtered down square or saw wave, however I can't work out whether there's a bass note under the kick drums to give it a more continuous sound (if that makes sense)

Thanks

Yeh was the sub I was talking about. Recently got some new monitors and it all became a bit clearer.. definitely a sine under the kick. Been hearing that in a few tracks lately. Do you think its that distorted? Maybe just a result of the mastering process.

As you mention it.. any ideas on the stab. Was assuming just a saw wave.. short decay, no release.. although it´s probably a bit more than that.

Thanks

Wasn't think over compression as a negative more the warmth you get from good mastering ie expensive valves. definately going to try Bussing some distortion in though
