mixer produces some nasty distortion

Post by Rein »

ok i've got a behringer x2442 (i know they're crap but it's the only way i can record my live jams on my synths at the moment). the problem is that the audio signal distortes heavily sometimes without the master even clipping... don't understand why this happens, but @ the phone jacks in the mixing desk you don't hear it, only to discover it on the recording (from mixer trough usb to computer) afterwards...

anyone an idea how to fix this?

turn the gains down?

It sounds like the convertors are clipping.

mm, does that also explain why it's only audible on the master out but not on the headphone out?

Mixer - interface issue.

Sounds like anyways, not much to go on but if you can output from the mixer to various listening points and it sounds fine, then logic says..............................

fck USB for recording.
