Yeah I write music to release my feelings. I basically make music in two primary forms.

Techno: To feel good, and to put my production skills to the test by making a track.

Artsy: To release feelings and to practice production skills. Usually turns out to be something resembling synth-pop, but it helps tremendously. Ironically, anytime I'm sad, most songs I make turn out to be happy in nature. Below is an example from a shitty situation last January:

I've been making tracks at 100 bpm lately. Sometimes slower. I'm kinda burnt out on making techno at the moment.

This is all I do... Straight heaters too. Doesn't need to feel slow at this tempo either. Would love to hear some of your 100bpm business.

I have used composition as therapy. Most recently about a year ago when I broke up with my girlfriend. There is one track on my soundcloud called "Broken by Wednesday" which was written the very night we broke up. The melody is mine and was constructed almost immediately upon sitting down to do it after the drum tracks were written. Basically had this sh!t on repeat for hours and then decided to mix it down on the fly. So it currently exists is the same state as one year ago.

Yeah, here's mine: http://soundcloud.com/eggnchips/bock-flockin-meat
I did it recently without having an aim or idea for the result, and this is what happened.
