Volume issues with new track

Post by Harry »

I was wandering if anyone could help me?
I've recently started this track and i'm having some trouble getting the volume and overall quality of the bounce right.
Has anyone got any tips on mastering or anything really to bring the sound out?

Thanks in advance

What do you think is wrong with it as it is?
quality seems good enough to me, maybe turn that off-beat kick down to match the rest
tracks a bit dry but thats just my taste..
could be a good track if u put time into it.

Sounds nice. Not sure what you mean by getting the volume right, but maybe this is what you're after?

The beginning got me interested. Your lack of 'volume'/RMS levels - if you subscribe to such a thing is only apparent because the music ( when the beat & sub come in ) only consists of a beat and sub/hat/a high pitched synth drone and not much else. So there's an obvious issue. It means, the only thing you have to work with or 'get loud' is sub/low frequencies. Those aren't the frequencies that tend to give a track volume. Add more stuff, fill out the frequency spectrum.

If you really just want kick/bass and a few stabs and nothing else you will have to compromise if you want loudness/low RMS levels as well. That( for me) would be to shorten envelopes and then to HP filter and then to work on the 80hz and above area to bring out presence and thump, the HP filter would grant you a bit more headroom but personally, as it is, I doubt you'd get that 'loud' ( for whatever reason ) as it is.
