gear + dust

Post by lem »

what gear have u guys got laying around collecting dust? maybe something really decent you feel you should use but dont.
maybe someone else would get good use out of it? maybe someone could advise you on better uses for it? maybe nobody will reply because they use all there gear all the time!
i just thought it would b more interestung than 'favorite gear' thread.

mine was a roland tr 909, (don't flame me!)

i sold it after owning it for years, got loads of use out of it then got an offer i couldnt refuse.

You don't know how much I got for it!

I just wasn't using it anymore, its a sad thing for such a fine instrument to be sat there not being used. Its a phase thing, if I had it now I would probably be using it, but at the time I hadn't used it for about a year.

To be quite honest I don't miss it, I can do everything I want without it.

My mopho is collecting dust. I've probably turned it on 5 times this year (a few of those were because I took it to someone's house). I think about selling it, but I do really like the synth. Maybe I'll switch it on today.

Funny how there are two 2nd gen DSI products already. I have always been tempted by one but I am not a big fan of DCO's. Although I haven't played a Juno which I always perceive to have the best DCO sound.

I have been trying to blag on of their Revox b77's for a while now. I have been using a really old cassette deck for a while now and wish I could be splicing it like I could with a reel to reel.
Do you use it for FX?

Tape, tape, tape. I love the thought of using it.
You know, we read about our heroes overdriving their 909's while recording the washing machine in the background, pumping it onto tape 3 times over.
Sounds so romantic.
I guess when the tape is there though, your head hurts thinking about setting it up.

If I don't like something I usually sell it but I've a long time neglected Korg Pad Kontrol I keep meaning to pull it out. I keep thinking I'll use it at some stage but in reality I'm a rhythmless mouse clicker.
The hi hat section of my Jomox 09 is also ignored.. mainly because its crap!
