Actually, in the other demo's I saw, they made a real effort to show that they had different genres in mind while developing their products, and generally presented them better.

The reason 6 demo was purely "here's a sh!t synth patch, and we've created a new fx unit that makes it even easier to sound like every other trance record around" and "with this new FX unit, you too can make a track that will be played on every London bus via some twats mobile phone"

Whats all this about paying what you want for no6?

If you already own both Reason and Record then you can pay what you want for the Reason 6 upgrade. V6 didn't add much new if you were already using R+R (apart from the effects units). This is just what I needed because as I mentioned previously I missed out on the free upgrade grace period by a short time.

I'm probably going to pay $1 just to keep my version up to date, even though I never use it any more.

I really think its getting to the point where the propellerheads are doing themselves a disservice by not allowing VST plugins inside reason, I quite simply cannot use Reason/Record as my DAW if they wont let me use plugins.

I don't do extensive ITB sequencing any more except for chopping up live jams and dropping clips in Live to jam again with but I might just get this. I have used Reason 5 and got some ( with hard work ) really impressive sounds from the Kong drum synth section and the new mixer looks like the dogs ( what's it like? )

Audio tracks/recording but no midi out though? I don't see the logic in that myself. Very strange.

the mixer is a massive improvement over the old one. good EQ's and dynamics section.

i've been using record for a while and i've hardly used the audio tracks. the editing tools still have some way to go. you might not be able to use midi but you can use CV to control hardware synths.
