your most typical mixing failure (monitor to club pa)

Post by regler »

I'm thinking much about translation lately. I'm very interested if there are there typical failures when people mix at home (with monitors) and hear their track on a club pa. what's your typical mixing/sound failure when you play a track on a PA system? I think this question maybe educational.

my tracks always sound much better on a PA than they do on monitors.

lol... Actually... my most common problems lie in punch and getting the tracks to level out to other tracks. Usually too much low end and not enough mid-high. translation is usually off.

My tracks used to sound great at home and terrible in the club when I had my Events. Now that I have the Dynaudios they translate very well.

I have no idea what my music would sound like on a proper PA. Probably horrible, as it doesn't sound that hot on my monitors either. Too bad I don't have the chance to check out my tracks on PA's, it'd probably be a useful experience.
