Monitors..

Post by Phune » Mon Apr 18, 2011 12:27 pm

I know, you'll hate me for this repetitive topic but there are so many (new) speakers out there and i need a pair of them.
My budget is around 1000 € and i was wondering if choose a pair of speakers + a sub like the Yamaha Hs80m with the Hs10W or buy a pair of Dynaudio BM 6A MK2 or KRK VXT8..or a pair of ADAM A8X.
What do you reccomend me basing on your experinces too?!?!
P.S.
My studio is a "bedroom studio" but soon i'll take to the next level and i want to avoid the chance to change the speakers again in the future..

dynaudios for sure...

best in clarity and dept, besides you don't wanna have a sub in your bedroom studio. It'll probably resonate in your room.

I have the Dynaudios bm6a. They are very clear, my music translates very well onto other systems.

You really need to just go to the shops yourself though to get an idea. What sounds good to you, might not sound good to others.

i use a pair of adams a7's with a adam sub8 subwoofer
for a 20 square meter room
and i'm really happy with this combination,
especially when it comes to the low end frequencies the adams
work out fine - sometimes (not very often) i've got the impression
that they're a bit harsh in the high ends...

but i could really recommend this combination
techno isn't about the past, it's about the future -

if you can't agree about that, then you're house

i really like the Dynaudio BM6A but i wish they had better bass response. i did a 5.1 mix with them and the sub made all the difference. a pair of BM6A with the sub is expensive.

I suppose that if he has a "beroom studio" a subwoofer won't be the best choice..maybe you should get a good pair of speakers with a good bass response and then buy a sub when you'll pass "to the next level" in a good studio.
Dynaudio has the settings to cut bass from the speaker to privilege the sub if you use it.
However what about the bm5a MK II? I'm interested in them too.
Anyone have them or have tested them out?

tested them yes, they were nice but bass response wasnt low enough for me. Bm6a's originals are a lot better.
