I really enjoy the Toolroom Samplepack. Not to many samples but very very usable, imo. Wave Alchemy is pretty cool as well or the Riemann stuff.

i avoid techno or any style of electronic music sample packs. sample packs should be used for inaccessible sounds. i imagine everyone on this forum has some kind of synthesizer they could use to make techno sounds.

i use sample packs for orchestral sounds, electric pianos and percussion that can't be made with a synthesizer. the free stuff that comes with Reason is good enough for me.

Yeah, Sample Magic have some really good sample packs, Mutekki Media too.

However, I prefer to make my own packs, either by creating the samples myself or collecting them from different sources.

I do this since not all the samples in commercial sample packs are usable for me.

I might invest in a sample pack if it sounds inspiring though, and gives me new ideas - even if I don't use the samples in my music.

This. When I first started I was using 100% other samples until I felt comfortable creating my own.
