I replaced the stock tubes with some JJEC83S or something similar. Not at home and don't recall the exact name.
With the stock tubes, you can't crank the tube gain past a certain point without getting terrible distortion. I can crank these new tubes to the max and they sound fantastic.
I have a screenshot from when I did the before and after testing. Also generated sound files but not sure if I still have them. Can post later if you're interested.
