Such a great producer ... anyone know what sort of gear or production he uses to produce those eerie sounds?

i think he uses ableton. i know dilo is an ableton user and he's worked with seph a lot.

Probably, as he plays live gigs as well. I'm more interested in his sound design. Some of the sounds a lot like FM to me.

thanks for this. Hadn't heard of Seph before but got Alquima and it's an f'in wicked album.
I would say he just uses a LOT of sampling..most of the album sounds like found sounds and field recordings messed with lots through lots of delays, filters and reverbs.
It's basically what would happen if Amon Tobin did techno and for that reason I love it.

Any more artist tips like this one?

it's the techno sound of Argentina.

Dilo, Gurtz, Barem, Violett, Jorge Savoretti, Franco Cinelli, Funzion and Omar Salgado should get you started.

also check unfoundsound and igloo netlabels.

yeah, its a bit true. but seph recently added Logic to his set up.
