Phasers

Post by upekah »

Hey Guys,

Just stumbled about these phaser plugins but I don't know how to use'em or for which reason to use'em..
I just downloaded the Phaser of Smart Electronix
I just read that they're similar to flangers (correct me if I'm wrong) but I just had a quick turn on them and I can't get them to change my sound at all.

If someone got some decent tutorial on there that would be nice!

Did you put it before the audio or something? :?

phasers add a phasing, sweeping type sound in addition to what you're hearing, flangers do that TO the sound you're hearing.

Or was it the other way around? I may have also described either effect poorly.

I don't know what to say, really. I've never had a phaser NOT do anything to the sound before.

i believe to remember that some other smart electronix plugin didn't do anything for me either. could be a problem of that plugin itself.

phasers are obvious. yes, they are similar to flangers.

this one should work: http://kunz.corrupt.ch/?Products:VST_TAL-Phaser

Well another approach would be to just use it if you like the way it sounds, without wanting to know what it does.

on chords, guitars,... and when you ad a phaser before a delay you have delays that are always changing in sound
