people bitch about DJ/Producer worship, then bitch about anonymous producers and white labels, then people bitch about Ableton & laptop music, then bitch about hardware. People sure do like to bitch.

For the record I have nothing against using computers to make music. I just think they benefit from a little hardware mixed in for intuitive purposes. It might be trendy somehow to migrate away from the computer, but I find myself having a lot more fun with hands on gear than by pointing and clicking around a DAW screen constantly. Plus, if anything DID happen to my laptop, it's nice to know that I could still make music solely on my hardware, since it might be a while before I could afford a replacement (I'm only buying a drum machine now because I'm selling my DJ equipment).

you don't have to defend wanting to use some hardware. if you like cars, get a nice car. if you're a carpenter, get some good tools. etc. thats what people do because they can be good for your personal workflow or sound better.
