Samplers/Efx Units????

Post by MannyLedezma »

Looking to pick up a sampler/efx unit to use with my XONE 92?? What's everyone using? Looking for references, pros/cons, most bang for the buck?

I have been thinking about getting into Abelton with my DJ sets but haven't really played with around with it yet. In the studio I use Logic so I have never really needed to use it. I play mostly CDs so I would need to figure it out. I was looking for more of a piece of hardware.

EFX-1000 from pioneer perhaps? I've been looking into the Eventide Timefactor, which is looking pretty nifty.

Yeah I have always been that guy. I never really have used effects that much. I use the filters on my XONE from time to time but really am looking to capitalize on its Midi and aux capabilities.

do you have to tap a button to set the midi tempo? if you do you'll get better results from looking at the bpm counter on your CDJ and putting it into what ever effects unit you use manually.

ableton is so much more flexible at this kind of stuff and although i'm against beat matching and doing everything with it, it's good for effects and the odd loop here and there.
