I agree that most techno/electronic music scenes, genres, etc, lean to the left (if political at all). Of course, there are exceptions, but you'd have to be completely unaware to think that it's split down the middle.

well artists do tend to lean left but I dont think that has anything to do with the music. I think it has to do with the people not politics. Artists tend to spend their time and creativity through arts which is not a very boomin money busness. THey show the same enthusiasm to create something as any other person but they choose to create something that isnt profitable.

Now the reason alot of them are liberal is because it is natural for people who make less money to lean towards government that makes it easier to not make money. Its very easy to blame others for your choices to pursue less rewarding careers.

Most artists are liberal because they are low income not because they are more artistic. people abandoning their creativity for money is not a repressentation political leanings.

Your comparing apples to oranges with this argument. Music has nothing to do with ideology and people making shitty music trying to get a buck has nothing to do with conservative values.

I understand your points, and I agree in theory to what you're saying, but I think if you did a headcount of everyone involved with techno music (rich, poor, starving artist, producer, dj, raver, clubber, superstar, young, old, whatever), it would "hang" to the left. Just my humble opinion.

Having said that, the music itself is apolitical, in the sense that you wouldn't be able to say: "Hey, that tune's from a right-wing pig! This one's from a commie pinko!" lol.

thats the craziest thing i've ever read. i actually don't know where to start. peoples sense of justice, their feeling of right and wrong, their feeling of how humans should act towards each other, their concerns for the world they may bring children into, all of these feelings only happen because they have chosen a career which will not bring in as much cash as if they had chosen to work in the financial sector?

Your assuming your feelings about things are different from a conservatives. Maybe you should talk to some before you make that judgement.

We all share the same feelings regardless of party. . I care just as much about all the things you do most likely the only difference between me and you is the way we think is right to achieve things. Your basing your entire argument on the idea that liberals care about things that conservatives dont and that is simply NOT a fact.

Being liberal does not make you more compassionate or creative than anyone and liberals have the same flaws of greed and things you are attributing to conservatives. thinking that way goes hand in hand with drinking the koolaid of any party.
For example I could use your logic and say that the reason music is going down hill is the lack of motivation to compete. Everyone feels entitled to make money even though they have done nothing special to earn it. Therefore the lazy good for nothing gimme liberal attitude is ruining music. Maybe music used to be more conservative as in the conservative value system you dont feel you deserve anything more unless you have earned something more so peop-le used to work harder to stand above the rest. I dont make those arguments though because they are completely wrong. I could make those arguements about Unions, entitlements, wellfare, education, or whatever else but music does not follow such guidelines.

. Musical ideas do not come from a political attutude. It ias competely wrong to think being liberal has anything to do with creativity as if your liberal brain is able to understand or achieve things my conservative brain is not.

It doesnt matter which way people lean politicaly with music. It has no effect. Last I checked EVERYONE listens to music and feels pretty much the same way about their favorite bands djs or atrtists.

I think allot of people get Libertarian confused with Liberal.
Most people that are called Liberals are not Liberal, they're Socialist.
Libertarianism is the exact opposite of Socialism.
