so which do we choose.. Mac

just trying to get an idea as im sure many have pondered... Im in the market to buy a new Mac.... for my price range i would only get usb... eventhough there is still the old macbook with Firewire...

so is USB the future of audio and audio interfaces? it seems Apple is forcing that hand. I like motu products but there is no ultralite in USB yet..

im happy with my macbook WITH firewire

yea.. i would be happy with the old macbook.. i don't care i just need the power but since im changing audio interfaces... im stuck with where to go ... usb or firewire.. i won't buy pc... well i might.. but most of them require usb... so it seems ok.. but i like firewire..

daisy chaining.. and all my hardrives are firewire.. its kind of a tough decision... its not just about the computer its about how i will be buying my setup and hard drives.. interfaces.. if i go with a new macbook i have to buy a usb hub that plugs in so that i can plug all the usb devices... that sucks..

USB 3 is just around the corner...

but i'm considering the MB Pro 2.8ghz 4gb 128ssd as well

the fact that it is around the corner makes me think of going small and dealing with it and then see where everything develops.. last time.. i bought a powerbook 2 months before the macbook pro's came out and i worked for apple so i knew but people were like don't get the first one.. yea..
so i might just go with what will work and then upgrade later..

Apple is just segmenting the market. Firewire will still be the standard, you just have to buy the Pro model. USB 3.0 have a long way to go, middle of 2009 at earliest.
