Post by Magnus Molin »

Hey folks,

Im thinking of buying Beyerdynamic DT-880 Pro studio headphones for my music production. Does anyone have these headphones, and maybe can tell me a little about them .. more than the stores tell's? ;)

Are they any good for music production? im talking about the low/high freq?

I bought the series 2 from http://www.alessandro-products.com/headphones.html They are the best headphones i tried. Mind that they are open. But they sound so clear that i basically do all my mixdowns on them.
They are definitely worth it. imo.

They've been slightly modded actually. Seems like they extend their frequency range somehow. Plus they go slightly cheaper. They do come with Grado written on them, but in an alessandro products box.

Opuswerk second half just bought the series one model and they also sound very very good.

Those were basically the best bang for bucks headphones i could find.

Listening to stuff like amon tobin or autechre on them is a bliss !

Seriously don't doupt this. I have the cheap grados prestige series... SR80s and they sound wonderful. I love the old school look, I'm always caught wearing them around town. :)

I don't wear mine outside, as i'm too afraid of damaging them. Plus they are open, meaning everyone hears what i listen to, and i hear all the surrounding noises.
Again i really recommend those !
