What laptop do you suggest?

Hey peeps!
After a long louzy dutch summer of just work I finally managed to some money aside to buy myself a laptop.
Thing is.. I don't really know what to buy... I don't want to buy a Mac, cause then I have to buy all the programms as well and I know my way around with a normal computer, but not with a Mac...
The laptop will just be used for making music (Reason & Cubase) and later on also for going live (Ableton).

Can anyone suggest me what brand and what technical specs I need??

i was surprised to see magda uses a sony vaio these days and not a powerbook

PC processors are faster than Apple processors (which is why Apple is going to be switching to Intel...or Mactel as they have been dubbed.) And when using Ableton/Serato/FS it pays to have a very fast processor. Not to say that is why Magda is using a VAIO but it could be one reason.

blah. FS works perfect on my iBook G4, so i'm sure a powerbook G4 will do too

ableton might be a different story coz - i know

- pc's have faster processors these days... but she wasn't using that last night..

thats not true!
apple has a complete different structure of their processors!
you cant compare it! (and apple is definitely faster in media applications! )
