Live setup
i never use anything other than repitch, its the only way for good sound.(+wavs)
and i wouldnt over stretch anything, if a track/loop is way too slow or fast for the set tempo, think about re-arranging your set. i usually have my set gradually speed up throughout, and i put slower material near the beginning etc.
you need a sound card !!
i first used ableton with a soundcard which wasnt cheap at the time (ego-sys)
and i always thought it sounded sht, when i replaced it with a studio quality card, it was ten times better, without changing anything else.
a pre-amp will make a difference, but a good one is expensive, i wouldnt make it a priority.
