Genoqs Octopus sequencer

Post by steevio »

anyone out there got a Genoqs Octopus hardware sequencer ?

if so, whats it like in use ?

if i can ever afford it i'd love to get a hold of one and ditch my fragile laptop for good when i play live.

it looks quite futuristic when you see a big photo of it,
and its highly complex when you read up on what it can do,
there was an article in Sound on Sound about it ( march 07 )

sounds like theres a lifetime of possibilities,

wow that's gotta be the strangest thing I've seen in a while for sequencers... looks kinda cool... I'm more then happy with my electribes for sequencing.

Lots of blinky lights.

I saw a local liveact (machina) using one a few months ago. They look cool.

A cheaper alternative might be a doepfer schaltwerk sequencer, although that only has the step sequencing bit.

Or if you are a super nerd, a massive MIDIBOX controller with a custom max/reaktor patch or a few of the MIDIBOW SEQs built togeher might come clost to the functionality.

its a lot bigger than it looks in the photos,
you have to read up on what it does to get a better idea.
it's effin expensive though.
