Booka shade

Post by ~missindra24~ »

I picked up a copy of this a while ago...http://www.discogs.com/release/386013

I like tha cha (ada)remix alot, kind of dark, moody + vocals, which I am not a huge fan of, but it works for this.

I see that he/they have a lot of realeses/remixes out, yet I have not heard 1 mix or anything.

Anyone have some more info on this, or heard any mixes?

:D
I like it alot.

every release i´ve heard from booka shade is top quality.
point break, triple identity, starrz.. MUCH good stuff...
also the very well known body language (booka + mandy) is awesome, that kind-of-bass-chord-whatever characteristical sound is a killaaahhh....
i don´t really know if they have any other works together, would be good to know...
btw, mandy is another kick-ass.
zero.

besides the matter of 'taste' (or lacking it)... what would you say something is 'cheesey'?
i´m trying to broaden ideas here...

in the particular case of booka shade it sounds much more melodic and has a particular groove that i don´t hear in much other artists. it is cheap, i admit it, but does it really make it bad?
what booka shade does is not squeezing your mind with little sick glitches but it probably is to make you dance, their tracks are warm and good for the dancefloor as well.
is that melody and lack of machinery sound set upon their tracks the cheese?
is it that they have gotten into a more commercial level compared to many others, and that makes them cheese?
or is it that their lightweight kinda techno is too light for our oh-experienced ears and we are never to hear something that might sound good but is not 'intelligent'?

anyhow, i wonder, what IS cheese?
zero.
