Mr Raoul K

Originally from the Ivory Coast, Mr Raoul K combines traditional African instruments and rhythms with European production techniques and soundscapes to make beautiful afro-beat house.
He launched his “Baobab” label in 2007 in Hamburg. His first release “Le Cercle Peul” got a warm welcome from many renowned producers (Henrik Schwarz, Josh Deep, Jerome Sydenham and Jephté Guillaume among others) and clubbers worldwide. From that point on, Mr Raoul K has gathered fans all around the world and particularly in Japan. A fact not lost on the ears of Mule Musiq from Tokyo (a label that Raoul loves) who has invited him to feature on their next compilation "I'm Starting To Feel Ok Vol. 3" which will be released at the end of August.
Raoul also has an album coming out on the American music label Still Music (http://www.itstillmusic.com/) in July this year and will tour the USA during the summer.

You can check Mr Raoul K’s sound on his myspace or on the Baobab Music myspace.

Raoul has been really busy recently working on many projects and has a few releases schedule in the coming month in addition to his debut album.
"Sun of Gao" on Fatsouls Records released in May 2009
"Wind of Goree" on Mule Musiq released on 20/7/2009
"Moment Pschedelik" on Baobab Music released sometime in July

There is a cool video on youtube that shows Raoul in Africa while recording. Raoul travels back to Africa each year to record with African musicians. The 25 minutes long documentary will be given with the album.
