was playing grey and gold yesterday.I've had them for years ,since they came out....still love em never realized it was Wolfgang Voigt nthought it was Soul Center guy ....Thomas Brinkman?

Yep, Kriesel 99 was a Kompakt sublabel, they released a record every week back in 1999.. I think Wolfgang did 30 out of the 52 records.. sick!

What's fascinating to me, is that no matter what kind of set I want to play, I can find a Voight track to suit it. I swear.

Want to play dark and spacey? Studio 1 Gruen.

Want to play dark and aggressive? Wasserman.

Want to play bouncy and funky? Pretty much any Studio 1, or Paroles.

Want to play cut up drums? Mike Ink Polka Trax.

Want to play acid? Mike Ink Aestral Theory

Want to play lush and chill? Burger/Ink. Or even Gas Pop.

There's no end. I neeeeeevvvvveeerrrrr get tired of this music.

Those really are some of my all time favorite tracks. I would say orange and magenta being my favorite. Mike Ink can do no wrong. He was working with this sound long before anyone was releasing "dub" this simple/complex. It seemed like a continuence of Basic Channel ethos moved slighly out of the "ambient" realm and more for the body, or dancing. I don't remember many records from that time period hitting the speakers the same full way except maybe some g-man releases but even those were missing a drive the studio series contained. One of my all time favorite records..." Mike Ink live in germany" Black label with blue print. Anyone else heard this? Circa 94 I beleive....

w. voigt is definately a guy, who influenced a lot of producers today, but i'm wondering, what about "profan"? for me, it was this label with excellent output, which brought me to "studio 1".
