ids : jackmate / soulphiction / supatone. dj since 1987. played the first hiphop-jams in the stuttgart-area. 1992 he founded the hiphop-project "agit jazz", together with maximilian herre (nowadays "freundeskreis"). working at the infamous "imports etc." record-store in 1989 he becameinfected to the classic chicago-house sound of larry heard, lil louis a.o. 1989 he started producing his own tracks, but it took time to release his first record in 1996 on the "stir15"-imprint of c-rock (frankfurt). 2001 he`s back on the stage, with some infecting live-sets under the ids of jackmate and soulphiction.
Jackmate/Soulphiction
Michel must be my favourite producer at the moment. His stuff is so incredible, ranging from deep house as Manmadescience (The "One" LP is on one level with Theo Parrish!) to his Soulphiction minimal house and some really great, more pushing stuff as Jackmate. Check out the new Jackmate LP "Blackbox" on Phil-E, it's just amazing.
And his tracks have always so much warmth anf funk in it. Great that at least someone in Germany is doing music in this quality range.
