Stand-up guy and artist. His view on music is impeccable.

bobdelux wrote:you cats dont consider Marc minimal?, or are you tired of his todd edwards-esque cuts. i still like his sht...its engaging, melodic, and dope...ill dance to that sht...still blows some other sht out....his ableton live sets be fuckin up sometimes though(beer spills).
Just to comment -- I had the pleasure of hosting an interview as well as "shooting the sh*t" with him at a local event we both played at last fall...

After raising the term "minimal," and even the term "electronic music" he expressed how the line between genres within electronic music, and in music (as a whole) is fading more and more each day. My conclusion, based on our discussion albeit vague-- is that labeling or "coining" his sound is not in his interest. He loves playing and creating whatever appeals to him, no matter what it be. Minimal, jazz, house, blah blah, who cares:)

If anyone is interested in the 30 min interview I hosted with him, I’d be happy to make it available for your listening pleasure. He's just simply amazing to listen to :)

Cheers
