Word.
I've been a BoC fan for a long long time. IDM at it's best. They have that nice warm detuned sound, just beautiful!
For me, the only artists that gets even close to Boards of Canada, is Aphex Twin.
For someone that hasn't heard them before, I'd recommend their earlier (perhaps a bit better) production like: 'Music Has the Right For Children' and 'Twoism'.
Warmly recommending these two scotsmen!

You shouldn't have gotten me started :D

there's a handful of goofy songs that when relistening, i realize are really contrived. (ones i used to like). but i don't think there's many people out there who don't like good ol' boc. they've lots of good stuff. some of the greatest songs are tiny too - IE - "opening the mouth" on geogaddi. what an amazing little piece.

agreed, i stopped listening to them after that stupid song about doritos, ugh.

best chillout for me is; ulrich schnauss, tycho, robin guthrie, autechre, etc.

not to totally diss B.O.C., they do have some brilliant tracks.

Don't know if I have anything to add really, but I DO live boards of canada.. And i feel I need to write something at least.
For me.. Boards of canada is a genre for themselves.

A lot of people might have missed out on their latest ep, "trans canada highway ep".
Get it.
especially "Skyliner" from that album is crazy.

One of my favourites, together with autechre, apx, ...
I could write much more what I experienced with their music, but I'll stick to the upper sentence and agree with what I quoted :)
