He posted a thread about his release on Textone, under the Labels/Releases section but I thought I'd give 'em some recognition under the artist page as well.
Born in the same city that bred house music, Tom Erdmann aka Popkan has been quietly putting together an archive of brilliance. Through his careful and intelligent drum structuring, Popkan dares to go where few have gone before. Combining bits, bleeps, squeeks and anything else imaginable, Thomas creates a hybrid of glitch, dub, acidfunk and minimal madness. Equipped with an arsonal of gear and a buck wild stage presence, the Popkan PA makes for a truly electrifying live performance. He began taking an interest to electronic dance music after witnessing Green Velvet and others at local underground parties on Chicago’s southside. He then became obsessed with techno and house music in its simplest, underground form. "I started making electronic music when I was 16. It wasn’t until I witnessed an awe inspiring live performance by Matthew Herbert that changed everything. It was something totally different from what I was used to seeing in Chicago." The sky’s the limit, there’s no telling what this man will do next.
Check out the Textone site for his first release, also take time to view his own home page www.popkan.com
