the dj-brothers andi and hannes teichmann, originally from regensburg / germany, were exposed to music by their father, the jazz saxophonist ullrich teichmann, right from the early days. at the young age of 12 and 9 they formed their first band “totalschaden” (“write-off”). during their teenage years they matured to be leading figures in the regional music scene and later became founding members of the band “beige gt” which would grow to national and international fame after their debut album “jukebox heroes”.
as electronic music producers they founded their own record label “festplatten” and also release on such internationally acclaimed labels as “kompakt” (cologne) or “l´age d´or” (hamburg). they quickly found themselves becoming dj´s in-demand and toured germany and europe extensively. in 2001 they also started a cooperation with the composer/zither player leopold hurt.
in 2002 the city of regensburg awarded the teichmann brothers with the culture price of the year for their long lasting contributions to and activities for the youth culture of city. they became the youngest award winners in the history of regensburg.
in the same year they joined up with fellow musicians and performing artists to found an art association called “graz e.v”, which created not only an inspiring work space but also an independent room for regular exhibitions, symposiums, concerts and other cultural events.
the brothers now live and work in berlin.
When the Teichmann brothers are at the decks or playing live they ride high with the crowd, 2 guys on a natural high, jumping, raving, always wearing that distinctive Teichmann smile, a euphoria reflected in the music and a smile you can't help returning. The Teichmann sets - ping-pong sets with the two brothers playing each other the ball, consistently unpredictable and focussed. Dramatically mixing genres from minimal to acid, to chicago, techno, rock and house as one. The Teichmann party - raved about not only by Berliners and crowds in Hamburg, Cologne and Munich, but even by those in the depths of Siberia.

The first remixes of Andi Teichmann's autumn album, "Fades" are
released, just in time for the summer sun!
Side A begins with 10 loops, cut by Andi himself and featuring one
loop from each track of the album.
After that, the record continues with Hannes Teichmann's remix of
"They Don't Care". Hannes calls it "Romantica Mix" and romantic it
is. He takes the original, featuring Hans forster's fantastic voice,
deconstructs the individual sounds and chords and rebuilds them
around bass and cotton.
"They don't Care Bout You? We Do!" could be the new motto.
The first track on the B-Side is an Ada remix of "Tape".
Having chosen "Tape", Ada uses another track with vocals by Hans
Forster's. While the original is pretty
down-beat, perhaps comparable to the tranquility and dream-like
quality of Air's music, the remix has it's feet firmly on the
dancefloor. It's as if Ada takes "Tape" by the hand, smiles and
whispers encouragingly: "Come on, follow me, i've got something to
show you!" You can distinguish Ada's personal touch, but still hear
the heartbeat of the original track.
Everybody who maintains that "there is no soul in electronic music",
should definitely take a listen to this.
The second remix on the B-side is by Dubmasta from Kiev. He's part of
„Foa Hoka“, one of the first undergounddub and electronic bands in
the Ukraine. He has left his mark on the indie-ambient track,
"Endscapes".
"Endscapes" is transformed Into a polyrythmic trip through the
Ukrainian underground. There are deep canyons of bass and high peaks
to climb. Sometimes the most unusual and challenging path is the best
one to take.
