ricardo_ the best there has ever been. if you have been producing with your ear to the pulse for more than a year you have to agree, or go make trance.
pantytec_ responsible for much of the sound that we hear now, the fusion of house and intelligent techno
luciano_ taking the torch from ricardo and running in his own direction
matt john_ one of the most innovative artists in the last 5 years, the one that dared to be as weird as he wanted.
dandy jack_ amazing, one of the men behind the sound
cabanne_ making some of the best tracks for over 5 years
thomas melchior_ from house to techno, all of his old stuff is great, his new stuff, even better
peter ford_ a pioneer in minimal, more unbelievable tracks on sooo many labels than i could hope for
bruno pronsato_ the king of the sleazy vocal and the freak funk
matthew jonson_ makes his gear and synths do backflips on command
i guess that's 10, i could keep going forever. some of them are on this board.

apart from my main influences like juan atkins, kenny larkin, cristian vogel, autechre, afx, etc...
but in order not to get stuck in the past too much, artists i have been enjoying these past few years techno/house-wise:
fabrice lig
stinkworx
tod bodine
ricardo villalobos
pheek
metro area
dandy jack
matthew dear
jetone
pan american
the list would be so much longer, but for the sake of being concise...
