Broken Vinyl arrived f. England, shipping insured??

Hey folks,

as i come back home today i saw a parcel at the landing in our house. It was the long awaited EP from Mark, the Ringrose 001 …

But the Parcel dont loked good, it was in a really bad condition, and if i were at home, i dont know if i had accepted it from the post man. But i wasn't at home, so it was lying there.

And i opend it, and the Vinyl was broke.

So, i have paid 12,- € for shipping, anybody know if its injured??

I wrote Mark, and he is a nice Guy, and i think we will handle that.

But now iam interessted to know, is shipping from England to Germany for about 12,- € injured??

Anybody knows or comes from England and had a similar problem??

if its really england it should be, 12 euro is really high shipping for a not insured parcel, but if it is insured the postman cant just drop it in front of your door, he needs a signature i think.

also i thought the guy lives in new zealand

Mark said shipping is 12 €, so i really hope its injured. And it comes from the UK.

And i wasn't at home as the Postman delivered … But he knows me and the neighbours, so i think he will deliver, also if iam not at home …

On the parcel is a sticker "Royal Mail - Postage paid UK4" and "BY AIR MAIL - par avion" … ??

Anyway, whenever I look at sellers from the uk, for europe it's something like "first record 4-5-6 pounds, if you want registered another 4-5 pounds".
So, I'm not sure if registered (with a tracking number) also means that it's insured against damage.

Always a risk, and as mentioned sometimes its close to the cost when its insured. sometimes the postman may ask someone else to sign it if you have flat mate or in my case I live in a condo. Try to first rule out if someone else could have signed for it. The energy involed might be easier to just order another.

Mark wrote back and said he will send me another copy when he is back at home ... think not many people would do that! so, big props for him! i hope the next one will be handled better ...

he cant say me if its injured or not. i send him some photos of the stickers and the broken vinyl, so i hope he will get some refound from the post ...

Well if you paid 12€ for shipping only i'd say 90% it was recorded&insured delivery, and i guess you can claim directly at your posts if he gives you the tracking id (assuming you didn't sign cause mailman knows you).
Anyway it's really awful, don't know what's worse if this or just waiting for ages your record that will never arrive

you only pay how much for insured? here in the states, coming form Germany, I've seen it for $15-$20 just for insured I believe. there is a difference between parcel - signed, and "insured". you have to be pretty careless to shatter a record.. most cases a "fragile" sticker is added, but .. that is pure neglect on the delivery service smashing it around like that..
