what do you mean? at every party were vinyl is played, at least once the needle jumps Oo
not here in detroit anyways.. I haven't heard a record skip in years I think.. many years ago, when parties went late, and were held at some sh!t hole in the wall biker bar with weak floors, It was common from ppl dancing close to the dj booth... but honestly I can't even remember the last time I heard a record skip. TV bar is top notch and I can say I don't believe I've ever heard it there, Grasshopper is my recent favorite place, haven't ever heard it there, oslo was nice while it was open, dont ever recall hearing it there...

so that is not the same experience for me at least..

I saw Sammy Dee using these last time he DJ'd in my city and wouldn't mind hearing some opinions from users on here because I'd be interested in getting some.

After reading into it, it really makes sense to use these to play warped records with less issue.
Also, the sound itself benefits aswel. With less resonance, audiophiles claim a "more solid and deeper sound".

So far i found;
the Michell clamp ~€50,- http://www.michell-engineering.co.uk/ac ... ord-clamp/ or http://www.needledoctor.com/JA-Michell-Record-Clamp
Clearaudio Twister ~€70,- https://www.tweaks4u.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=1003
TTSuperClamp Light ~€75,- http://www.ttweights.com/catalog/item/6 ... 999370.htm

A clamp has my preference because it will help remove most of a warp and there seems to be little difference in sound between the clamp and a good weight.
Fitting a clamp each time you put a record on the deck is more time consuming though.

I was wondering if any of you have experience playing vinyl with record clamps, or records weights? And if so, which do you use, weights or clamps?

well heard the record skip a few times during mike huckable's set last night. @ tv bar..
so I guess that wouldn't apply anymore.. I was taking to dan bell about these..
(happened to catch him out last night) since he's moved back to detroit..
he said "I"m sure they are great for trainspotters"...
haha

I saw Marcellus Pittman play with turntable weights on some of his records. Before putting on the weight you could see that they were warped to some degree.

of course it helps with warped records or even records where the whole in the middle is a bit to big or worn out.
also if you dont like someone to see your tracks its good.
