Discogs

Post by pete22 »

Hi,

is there an easy way of getting the records you want from the same seller so it does not cost so much in postage

Cheers ;)

what do you mean?

if you go here http://www.discogs.com/sell/mywants

you can filter by seller, means it shows you everything you want from each seller..

of course you have to first add some records to your wantlist.

I was going to say it was too easy just to find by the individual seller..
great tip to save on shipping I'm sure it will help many..
reminds me I should actually use the wantlist
more effectively..

I truly want to thank you pete22 & Themis for this post..

I just spent about 5 mins putting in my want list, found seller(s) in the US, and literally just saved..

well over 100 just in shipping which allowed me to get 3 times as many records in my want list..

THANK YOU !!!

perhaps here, we can share "experiences" with bad sellers, that we've done business with.. and also share "good sellers" that we've done business with.. like eric has stated in the other thread, he has contacted buyers and asked them to lower the price. therefore I think it would counter productive if we just speculated on people and what they charge vs. sharing what happened, (after) actually doing business with the person..

do agree a discogs thread is much needed. as stated above, with a simple adjustment on (want list / search by country) I saved a killing on shipping.. literally about $250 or even more. typically I was paying $15 a record, $20 in shipping which was apx $35 per/record.

My example I just experienced..

$35 (ave cost for both record & shipping)
x 15 records (would) have been = $525

vs.
average $12 record x 15 shipping = $ 180
old buying approach was $525 - new one $180

= $345 savings in shipping alone.

thanks again :!:
