Storing Vinyl

Post by tcburnell »

Hi mnml.nl crew,

So my vinyl collection is slowly growing and I'm getting a little bit concerned with the room I'm living in. I'm currently in a converted warehouse and in the 'loft' room. It get's incredibly hot up there in the summer and very chilly in the winter. I left my traktor timecode vinyls on my turntables and they have warped eek!

I really don't want this to happen to my collection. They are currently in a record bag under my bed away from the sunlight that shines through the glass roof. Is there any other precautions I need to take? I've been reading lots about how heat and drastic change in temperature will warp the records and I want to do everything possible to avoid that.

Any help/shared experiences would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

T

i guess you will never experience drastic temperature changes in your aparment.

i dont think that anything happens if as long as you dont put your vinyls into direct sunlight.

i dont know how hot it can be in your room, but in my room it has like 30 degree celsius in the summer and thats no problem at all except for me :D

what can you do?

put sun-blinds to your windows
or
buy an air condition
