I guess that could work really well.. To have an element through your whole set that returns.
And i think that might also be the only way to play a really long track. You just have to be creative with it and make it your own i guess...

But that brings up a different question. What is the art of Dj-ing?

Could be interesting to see what people think...

as Theo Parrish once said, to be a DJ means playing records to a crowd in a skillfull and artfull fashion.

another good thing is to ask yourself from time to time, why exactly you are in the DJ Booth and not someone else.
the answer to this is depressing the most time, but it keeps you real :)

I believe the DJ rule book says you shouldn't play more than 8 minute and 15 seconds of a track. More than that, and you suck...

craig richards played the full Fizheuer Zieheuer (as far as i can remember). I remember thinking at the time that he was using some sort of vinyl of some band and just layering over a beat. i remember it going on for ages and ages, but never getting bored of it. he played it way before it came out and before i had even heard it. that particular track stayed in my head for ages and i remember talking about it for ages with friends.

Each track has a moment. If someone plays say 10 minutes of fizheuer in a 2h set its ok. If it plays full track i guess not. But if you play the thing in a say 4h set, it makes more sense.
