I can get stuck on searching beatport soundclips / *artists, labels... etc for 5-6 hours easily, and I've never checked beatport charts (except those of artists whom I've long trusted to be good, but that's like 3-4 artists all together)

what do you guys mean with minimal?? i agree that most of the stuff between 05 and 08 were a fad.. but there is other stuff like dan bell, ricardo and rob hood.. timeless stuff which is still highly influential for lots of producers..

Nah, no way, there has been good minimal techno releases long before and after it exploded in popularity.

Just like with dubstep, people who are exposed to the shitty "fad" type stuff call it a fad, but really there is a lot of good music described using this adjective released before and after the "fad".
