FB degrades sound quality of shared YouTube videos?

i just noticed this today - whenever i share a youtube video on my FB profile, the sound quality of the shared video gets significantly worse than if you would open the same link directly on youtube! and i do mean significantly...

is it only me? i am sure this wasn't like that before... it was the same as on youtube! and now... wtf., this is getting ridiculous...

edit: soundcloud seems to be down atm, so cannot see if the same thing happens with soundcloud links. i hope something's wrong on my machine, although i fail to see what it could be...

soundloud is just a player embedded in the facebook site
the stream comes from soundcloud

the same with youtube videos.

it can be though that you have settings that play the youtube video in the lowest possible way if you open it through a embedded player. cause you can choose the quality with youtube, this option doesnt exist for soundcloud

check your youtube settings, there are options for quality dependent on largeness of the player.

thx for the imput Themis, but i dont know which settings on youtube you mean? can you be more specific pls? i am sure this happens for the first time today, otherwise i would notice... soundcloud links sound ok now, but not Youtube... regardles of what settings i change. pls direct me to the ones i should look at? thx

i didn't notice this with Facebook but the youtube embedded stuff on discogs is a lot worse so i wouldn't be surprised.

haven't noticed on facebook but on discogs it's drastic. Drives me fckin nuts!

Maybe because when it's embed it is set on 240p automatically?
