Obviously not true. I've downloaded so many sweet, sweet movies from megaupload at lightning fast speeds, it was too good to stay up any longer.

Sorry, but I don't believe that, especially because there are already ways for artists to sell their tracks on certain websites and keep a good deal of the cut for themselves.
I think it's just another way of trying to get back at the 'big' business.
(I mean, yes, it could be true that they at some point would launch something like that, but it really isn't anything that new)

Here's pretty good write about what happened:
http://torrentfreak.com/cyberlocker-eco ... on-120123/

I noticed this one:
One of the key allegations is that between 2005 and mid 2011, Megaupload ran a program that rewarded users for uploading infringing material. A cited internal email allegedly shows staff members discussing cash payments going to people uploading “full popular DVD rips” and “software with keygenerators (Warez)”.
(if it's true, then it's pretty crazy)

oh and by the way, here's the mansion that Kim Dotcom owns:

Dotcom doesn't own that house as NZ Govt didn't allow him to buy it, based on his German convictions. Its the most expensive house in NZ.

Uff I think there will be a massive retaliation by the hacker community against the major production houses, rec labels and unions.
