I'd like to record the whole night next time we play - Whats the best way to record this- I was thinking of going a bit retro and getting a recordable minidisc - Cheap and small?
Anyone done this?

get an mp3 recorder... saves a lot of hassle.
you record it once and only once...
mini disc while cheap.. are a bit annoying.. you record it on to the minidisc... probs on LP2 which compresses it so you can get more than 74 minutes on a disc... however the sound quality can get a bit patchy...
then once you've recorded it... on your disc... you can't actually export it off... so you end up re-recording it again back into your computer...
so the sh!t sounding recording that you had on the disc now sounds even shitter because of the re-record...

Ah right, fair enough.jackbrazzo wrote:Yes, but I want to use a portable recorder than i stick through the mixer rather than lugging my laptop around. I suppose that is an option too.
If you decide to use the laptop, then download Audacity, and buy a cable that plugs from the mixer into the laptop.
Will cost you about £5, instead of wasting money on a recorder that could be spent on records
