Artists like Motor City Drum Ensemble / 6th Borough Project?

Post by bombsaway »

ISO similar artists in title. More of a deep house sound with loads of soul - not minimal or techno - but great dance music.

I've read discussions of other types of music on here today and this is my first post - hoping to share some music and get some recommendations.

Check out Mark E, Eddie C, OOFT, Ilija Rudman, Ilya Santana, Tensnake.

Also check out the OOFT blogspot, they host a bunch of mixes and give away free tracks every now and then.

Try releases on Story & Jazzy Sport.

STL has some great 110 tracks on recent releases. I'll list some others when they come to mind.

Couple of tracks I uploaded to youtube.

anizz: There's some old school classics!

New Guy: Mark E - RnB Drunkie and Plastic People have been playing a lot lately. I don't hear the soul and funk sound I was referring to - more of a straight house sound to my ears, but lovely regardless. I'll def. check out Eddie C and Tensnake - I've never heard.

WillieSmalls: I heard CB Funk - Subway To Cologne on a mix recently but didn't know the artist and can't figure it out which mix - maybe a Trickski mix or even MCDE -- good track

Nordin: Trus'me is another favorite - great catalogue, I've only a few tracks of Fudge Fingas but is good as well. Thanks for the other recommendations - I'll def. be doing some listening tonight.

Thanks for the suggestions all. I've just discovered this board and it's refreshing to see threads actually about music instead of a lot of bickering / drama which consumes some of the other boards I post on.

The CB Funk track is the fuckin' heat. Great tip. Only I can't find it digitally, and discogs is like $30 minimum for a used copy, pssh. :(

As much as I still love and support wax, these small pressings kill me!
