i hope you are serious!

for me: house came before techno and i'll admit it...it was "flowerz" by armand van helden/roland clark in '99. heard it on morgan state university radio's 'underground experience' with dj pope and oji. mostly cuz the sample bassline from "think twice" by donald byrd.

techno? the first track to crack my brain open was "beyond..." the subjects vs jeff mills. heard it on mix cd an acquaintance lent me, then found it in the dollar bin at my local record shop weeks later in '01. still have it today :)

I was into Boards of Canada and stuff first, but once I heard DJ Slip - everytime it takes a while. I searched for it and i found out that it was released on `The fall of Jupiter EP`... the sound really grabbed me cos the track was very intense and I could picture perfectly how a spaceship would sound if it would fly by and would make exactely the same sound as that track :) . Soon after I heard Ricardo playing it together with some classical piece and that`s when I realized this was totally my kind of music. It took me actually a few weeks to realize that the more housy stuff was even more interesting :)

Last September Sneak played for 4 hours in Corisca Studios, London. The set was mainly tough jackin house but right at the end he dropped Flowerz. One of my fav clubbing memories of everyone one in the club singing along :D

The college radio station where I'm from had a great dance show at night when I was a little kid.

We called it "breakdance music."
